In the 40th minute of the game Ingvar Matsson made a throw-in which Emil Blomkvist played forward. Lidingö's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Igor Tudor ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Inácio Secco managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Thanks to some nice moves Gelu Cornoiu could shoot a difficult shot in the 83rd minute, which Péter Mészáros however easily saved by the left post. F.C. Paços de Ferreira's Péter Mészáros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save F.C. Paços de Ferreira from getting a goal against them.
