After having played for 9 minutes, Paulo Yurre managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ...Pingue S.C....'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Yurre was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 13 minutes into the game, ...Pingue S.C....'s Tiaguinho Gavilanes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rosario Escarza made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 27th minute Santi Gavilanes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rosario Escarza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rosario Escarza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiaguinho Gavilanes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abdulhamit Yavaş's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Javier Abin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. In the 44th minute Paulo Yurre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rosario Escarza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Piet Goemyne in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Javier Abin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Piet Goemyne's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Javier Abin was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Santi Gavilanes to make the kick off. Javier Abin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wanderson Pombal in the 87th minute of the match.
