In the 19th match minute, AFK Petržalka was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dávid Hancko to maneuver through the defense. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by AFK Petržalka's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dante Palban was slow to take the kick. During this time Azulgrana 81's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Dante Palban almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but AFK Petržalka's Hugo Fisher did a great save. Cirilo Peyo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Roland Záhoran went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 26 minutes into the match, Henrique Morais dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Hugo Fisher, 1-1. 34 minutes into the game, Roland Záhoran cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Cirilo Peyo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 37 played minutes AFK Petržalka got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Costantini. Azulgrana 81's Fabricio Cordarell got his second yellow card of the match in the 41st minute. The referee ordered Fabricio Cordarell off the ground. In the 42nd match minute, Azulgrana 81 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabricio Cordarell to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roland Záhoran in the 43rd minute of play forced Azulgrana 81's goalkeeper Cirilo Peyo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vladimir Lenin to make the kick off. Hugo Fisher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Primitivo Gimenez in the 54th minute of play. Roland Záhoran's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cirilo Peyo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. After 71 minutes AFK Petržalka's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dante Palban who took care of the corner kick. Dante Palban made a great header on Azulgrana 81's corner, it was just that AFK Petržalka's Hugo Fisher managed to reach the ball for a save. Roland Záhoran blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cirilo Peyo having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roland Záhoran got free with Cirilo Peyo in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Azulgrana 81's Cirilo Peyo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bryan Reyna in the 84th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Azulgrana 81's Gláuber Bertassi got a free kick in the 84th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roland Záhoran got free with Cirilo Peyo in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Azulgrana 81's defense didn't have a chance, in the 87th minute, when Roland Záhoran scored to the left of an out of position Cirilo Peyo, making the score, 1-4. Cirilo Peyo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Bryan Reyna showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-5 in the 90 minute of play. Alejandro Martinez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Fisher having to interfere. The AFK Petržalka supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing AFK Petržalka would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
