Newcastle United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gastres FC the free kick. Pankracy Malicki hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. 8 minutes into the match, Gastres FC's goalkeeper Geronimo Ongile had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pankracy Malicki. When Newcastle United's Thomas Vollmar in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gastres FC's goalie prevented a goal. After 8 minutes, Thomas Vollmar made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Gastres FC's Geronimo Ongile tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Gastres FC's Marcos Acuña got a free kick in the 11th minute. Thomas Vollmars short, quick shot in the 12thth minute got Geronimo Ongile to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Teobaldo Belmiro in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mikolaj Jerzyk saved Newcastle United from getting behind. If Teobaldo Belmiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes into the match, Thomas Vollmar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Geronimo Ongile. Gastres FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Thomas Vollmar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 20th match minute, Newcastle United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marian Erland to maneuver through the defense. Thomas Vollmar's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 24thth minute, Geronimo Ongile skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Teobaldo Belmiro in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mikolaj Jerzyk saved Newcastle United from getting behind. In the 27thth minute of the game Teobaldo Belmiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Newcastle United's Mikolaj Jerzyk was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Geronimo Ongile made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pankracy Malicki in the 28th minute. Newcastle United's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Zé Paulo Zonta in the 30th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Gastres FC's zone, Thomas Vollmar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geronimo Ongile came out of the goal and Thomas Vollmar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Teobaldo Belmiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mikolaj Jerzyk was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. 41 minutes into the match, Gastres FC's goalkeeper Geronimo Ongile had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Thomas Vollmar. Geronimo Ongile made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Marian Erland sent off a good shot on target. Geronimo Ongile was a little too slow when Thomas Vollmar got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 43rd minute. The score was now 3-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Teobaldo Belmiro was the one to do the kick off. Zé Paulo Zonta kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Teobaldo Belmiro succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-1 in the 54th playminute. With his leg Mikolaj Jerzyk managed to avoid a goal in the 58thth minute, when Gastres FC's Teobaldo Belmiro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Calistrat Geangu in the 59th minute of play forced Newcastle United's goalkeeper Mikolaj Jerzyk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gastres FC's Geronimo Ongile played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thomas Vollmar in the 60th minute of play. Gastres FC were awarded a corner in the 68th minute after Newcastle United's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mathieu Koning took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Mathieu Koning got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mikolaj Jerzyk quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Gastres FC's Geronimo Ongile played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thomas Vollmar in the 69th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adam Pacholewski in the 71st minute of play forced Gastres FC's goalkeeper Geronimo Ongile to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Newcastle United's Mikolaj Jerzyk got control of the ball when Edgardo Javiar tried to sneak it across the goal line. Geronimo Ongile took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adam Pacholewski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mikolaj Jerzyk made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Edgardo Javiar sent off a good shot on target. After 78 played minutes Newcastle United got a freekick which was hit by Benedykt Gdaniec. In the 79th minute Edgardo Javiar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mikolaj Jerzyk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Calistrat Geangu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mikolaj Jerzyk. That made the score 3-2 in the 81 minute of play. Geronimo Ongile didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Thomas Vollmar went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. If Edgardo Javiar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mikolaj Jerzyk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjamin Neto in the 90th minute of the match. After 92 minutes, Edgardo Javiar made it 4-3 with a short kick to the right side. Newcastle United's Mikolaj Jerzyk tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Newcastle United fans cheered their team off the field, for while Gastres FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
