Mundo Jaen charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mundo Jaen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Sacro Balompié booed when Girona FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mundo Jaen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Baltasar Sancho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Berkay Yetiş's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Sacro Balompié's goal looked a bit too open when Everardo Atauri came free, but Baltasar Sancho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Everardo Atauri spun around in front of the goal 19 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Sacro Balompié's goal. 23 minutes into the game, Sacro Balompié's Jeremias Gaueko nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cristiano Aveiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Sacro Balompié's Baltasar Sancho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Everardo Atauri in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st minute of the match Girona FC got a corner. Sacro Balompié's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Iván Salgado ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Sacro Balompié's goalie and right to José Gonçalves. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Sacro Balompié's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Baltasar Sancho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Everardo Atauri in the 34th minute of play. Cristiano Aveiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeremias Gaueko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Girona FC's Cristiano Aveiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeremias Gaueko in the 36th minute of play. 39 minutes into the game, Jeremias Gaueko recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Cristiano Aveiro. Jeremias Gaueko showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Girona FC's Cristiano Aveiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Girona FC from getting a goal against them. Cristiano Aveiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isidoro Izel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Girona FC made a substitution. Roman Gdaniec replaced Everardo Atauri. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Roman Gdaniec made a kick off. Cristiano Aveiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Almiron, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 59th minute of the game Gaudencio Santos made a throw-in which Jeremias Gaueko played forward. In the 61st play minute Roman Gdaniec came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Baltasar Sancho. 2-1. Miguel Almiron took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 95th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cristiano Aveiro. Girona FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. There was no doubt that Sacro Balompié were the better team. Sacro Balompié's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
