Sakura Storm were awarded a corner in the 8th minute after Kingpins's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marvelous Ronaldinho took the corner. Marvelous Ronaldinho made a great header on Sakura Storm's corner, it was just that Kingpins's Bixente Poli managed to reach the ball for a save. Tadeusz Dziechciowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bixente Poli having to interfere. Bixente Poli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vinícius Juniors in the 16th minute of play. After 17 played minutes Sakura Storm got a freekick which was hit by Napoleon Mleczewski. After 29 played minutes Sakura Storm got a freekick which was hit by Napoleon Mleczewski. After some careless play in the Kingpins defense, Vinícius Juniors kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bixente Poli. The Kingpins fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bixente Poli should have stopped the shot. Kingpins's Bixente Poli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vinícius Juniors in the 42nd minute of play. 47 minutes into the game, Tadeusz Dziechciowski cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Bixente Poli was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Kingpins made a substitution. Yan Guo Qiang replaced Torbjörn Hake. Kingpins's Karl-Johan Gregersson was substituted for Adrian Falck. After the first half Sakura Storm were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tadeusz Dziechciowski to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victorino Euloxu in the 56th minute of play forced Sakura Storm's goalkeeper Zakir Novruzov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 59 minutes into the match, Kingpins's goalkeeper Bixente Poli had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zsolt Hubina. Yan Guo Qiang took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zakir Novruzov. Zakir Novruzov dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Tadeusz Dziechciowski blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bixente Poli having to make a save. Bixente Poli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tadeusz Dziechciowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 69 played minutes Sakura Storm got a freekick which was hit by Sacit Selmi. 70 minutes into the match, Yan Guo Qiang notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Sakura Storm's Zakir Novruzov. Zakir Novruzov was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 73rd minute Victorino Euloxu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zakir Novruzov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tadeusz Dziechciowski during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Kingpins booed when Sakura Storm was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tadeusz Dziechciowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. 85 minutes into the game, Sakura Storm's Tadeusz Dziechciowski nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bixente Poli made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. 93 minutes into the match, Sakura Storm's goal looked a bit too open when Victorino Euloxu came free, but Zakir Novruzov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Victorino Euloxu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kingpins's supporters rose to their feet, but Victorino Euloxu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zakir Novruzov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Sakura Storm eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
