Atlanta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnoldo Kismi should have stopped the shot. When Constantino Bertol fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C. A. Atlanta's protests and gave Constantino Bertol a yellow card for diving instead. In the 12th minute, Constantino Bertol hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Mikael Valström's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnoldo Kismi was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. Evaristo Rosio hit a great ball. 76 minutes into the match Robbin van Persie climbed in front of goal and pressed up 0-9 in the right cross behind a totally surprised Arnoldo Kismi. Robbin van Persies short, quick shot in the 79thth minute got Arnoldo Kismi to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Mikael Valström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, C. A. Atlanta's Arnoldo Kismi got control of the ball when Mikael Valström tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arnoldo Kismi was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Lennert Van der Vloedt. From close distance Mikael Valström pressed in the 0-10 goal high up into nets stiches in the right cross 85 minutes into the game. Robbin van Persies short, quick shot in the 90thth minute got Arnoldo Kismi to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The crowd rose to their feet as Lennert Van der Vloedt kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Arnoldo Kismi. That made the score 0-11 in the 91 minute of play. After having played for 96 minutes, Lennert Van der Vloedt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. RWDM's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lennert Van der Vloedt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The RWDM players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
