Thanks to some nice moves Robinho Urbano could shoot a difficult shot in the 17th minute, which Roberto Layton however easily saved by the left post. 23 minutes into the match, Capibaribe Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Carlo Darrigrande came free, but Thomás Toscano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Henry Costa scored 1-0 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Roberto Layton, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Henry Costa to strike the kick off in the second half.
