In the 6th minute Novak Djokovic shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michael Apelkvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 9th minute of the game Andreas Svensson made a throw-in which Christoffer Lindström played forward. Michael Apelkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Novak Djokovic in the 11th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, Novak Djokovic had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Michael Apelkvist. FTU's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Novak Djokovic was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 15 minutes into the game, Novak Djokovic cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Michael Apelkvist was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the FTU defense, Novak Djokovic kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Michael Apelkvist. The FTU fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Michael Apelkvist should have stopped the shot. Michael Apelkvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Novak Djokovic, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Novak Djokovic sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 37th minute Novak Djokovic shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michael Apelkvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Novak Djokovic took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Michael Apelkvist. Michael Apelkvist dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. 45 minutes into the match, FTU's goal looked a bit too open when Novak Djokovic came free, but Michael Apelkvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dennis Esbjörnsson in the 47th minute of play forced FTU's goalkeeper Michael Apelkvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The wind increased when Novak Djokovic made the kick off in the second half. Novak Djokovic succeeded in the game's 51st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-6. Michael Apelkvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Best Bro in the 54th minute of the match. Michael Apelkvist came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Sweden's Novak Djokovic. But to his dismay, Novak Djokovic quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-7. Best Bro's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Michael Apelkvist firmly grabbed it by the left post. Best Bro came free with the goalkeeper in the 68th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Michael Apelkvist could save by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christoffer Lindström in the 73rd minute of play forced U21 Sweden's goalkeeper Fisnik Fart to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of FTU booed when U21 Sweden was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Novak Djokovic didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dennis Esbjörnsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Michael Apelkvist made a huge save. 82 minutes into the match, Dennis Esbjörnsson dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Michael Apelkvist, 0-9. Michael Apelkvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Best Bro in the 88th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Nicola van Bommel managed to get in a good position for a shot. U21 Sweden's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicola van Bommel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Michael Apelkvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Best Bro succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-10 in the 91st playminute. The U21 Sweden players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
