The referee gave Lindfield a penalty, 44 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Brendon Holland, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Carioca AD's Túlio Santana. 0-2. After having played for 46 minutes, Niall Anson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lindfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Niall Anson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eusébio de Toledo made a kick off. After having played for 50 minutes, Jon Bilton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lindfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jon Bilton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Niall Anson in the 52ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Túlio Santana, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Niall Anson came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Lindfield fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Niall Anson couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eusébio de Toledo in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pierre Dexter prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 62 minutes into the match, Eusébio de Toledo notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Lindfield's Pierre Dexter. Pierre Dexter was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Lindfield's zone, Eusébio de Toledo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pierre Dexter came out of the goal and Eusébio de Toledo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 70 minutes into the game, Eusébio de Toledo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Pierre Dexter was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jon Bilton scored 2-4 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Túlio Santana, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 78th minute, Eusébio de Toledo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pierre Dexter was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-4. If Jon Bilton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Niall Anson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Túlio Santana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niall Anson in the 96th minute of play. The Lindfield players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
