But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tan Chien-Kwan couldn't finish the play. Eusébio de Toledo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Hamir Amin made a huge save. 13 minutes into the match, Gugu Correia dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Hamir Amin, 1-0. In the 17th minute Firdauz Ee shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Túlio Santana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute, Carioca AD's José Vítor Diniz ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Hamir Amin. Hamir Amin yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. A collision led to Carioca AD getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Simão Araújo hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Simão Araújo took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Hamir Amin to make any attempt to save it. SK Lim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Túlio Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Farhan Ching during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Hillhead FC's Farhan Ching got a free kick in the 26th minute. The supporters of Hillhead FC booed when Carioca AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romário Velloso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Túlio Santana didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Firdauz Ee went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. In the 32nd minute, José Vítor Diniz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Firdauz Ee had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Firdauz Ee fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Túlio Santana having to interfere. In the 41st minute Simão Araújo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hamir Amin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th minute, SK Lim got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Túlio Santana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Firdauz Ee, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gugu Correia to make the kick off. Carlinhos Sergipano kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Túlio Santana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Firdauz Ee, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SK Lim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Túlio Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 59th minute, Khairul Dyce hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Firdauz Ee recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Simão Araújo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hamir Amin having to interfere. Eusébio de Toledo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Firdauz Ee had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 73 played minutes Firdauz Ee rounded Carioca AD's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 3-2. Farhan Ching struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Túlio Santana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hillhead FC. SK Lim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Firdauz Ee's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Túlio Santana was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Carioca AD were victorious despite being under pressure from Hillhead FC for much of the match.
