The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th match minute, Laase was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucjan Klucznik to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Gugu Correia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carioca AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Gugu Correia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Krzysztof Majusiak breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Walery Pochorylo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Krzysztof Majusiak came out of the goal and Eusébio de Toledo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walery Pochorylo in the 34th minute of play forced Carioca AD's goalkeeper Túlio Santana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 36 played minutes Carioca AD got a freekick which was hit by Carlinhos Sergipano. The supporters of Laase booed when Carioca AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabiano Couto didn't get a good kick on the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Lucjan Klucznik notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Carioca AD's Túlio Santana. Túlio Santana was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Robert Koczara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Túlio Santana having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Walery Pochorylo made a kick off. Gugu Correia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 53 minutes into the game, José Vítor Diniz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carioca AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Laase the free kick. Emil Kasprzak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Túlio Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With his leg Túlio Santana managed to avoid a goal in the 56thth minute, when Laase's Robert Koczara fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Krzysztof Majusiak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eusébio de Toledo in the 60th minute of the match. Krzysztof Majusiak took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusébio de Toledo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Krzysztof Majusiak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusébio de Toledo, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Walery Pochorylo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Túlio Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Túlio Santana was out of position in the 83 minute of play, and Walery Pochorylo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Walery Pochorylo really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. After 88 played minutes Laase got a freekick which was hit by Cyryl Bejrut. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Laase's goalkeeper Krzysztof Majusiak, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Walery Pochorylo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Laase supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Laase would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
