The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Belaid Belkacem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Viet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mohamed Dahleb took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Trần Hong. Trần Hong dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 16 minutes in the game Yacine Azzizi-Kettab did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Daho Mimoun. Trần Hong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mohamed Dahleb, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 21 minutes into the game, Bouabdellah Bendjedid recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Trần Hong. Bouabdellah Bendjedid showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Souad Kacha in the 33rd minute of play forced Chi Minh City's goalkeeper Trần Hong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 36 minutes into the game, Souad Kacha cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Trần Hong was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 39th minute, Taneytown AF's Mohamed Dahleb ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Trần Hong. Trần Hong yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-1. In the 42nd match minute, Taneytown AF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bouabdellah Bendjedid to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Taneytown AF's Kamel Bedjaoui slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Trần Hong. That made the score 5-1 after 44 minutes of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mohamed Dahleb was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bouabdellah Bendjedid in the 53rd minute of play forced Chi Minh City's goalkeeper Trần Hong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 59 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Viet dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tedj Saïfi, 5-2. Ahmed Reda Djebbour's late challenge caught a Chi Minh City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ahmed Reda Djebbour helped the player get up and apologised. Đặng Thuyet, 64 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Bouabdellah Bendjedid fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trần Hong having to interfere. Taneytown AF's Tedj Saïfi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dương Huỳnh in the 71st minute of play. During the 76th minute of the match Ahmed Reda Djebbour completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ahmed Reda Djebbour a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 80th minute Mohamed Dahleb shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trần Hong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bouabdellah Bendjedid struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Trần Hong didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Taneytown AF. After having played for 84 minutes, Mohamed Dahleb managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Taneytown AF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mohamed Dahleb was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Nguyễn Phuoc fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chi Minh City's protests and gave Nguyễn Phuoc a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Chi Minh City's Nguyễn Phuoc got a free kick in the 85th minute. Trần Hong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mohamed Dahleb, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Đinh Phu kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. In the 89thth minute of the game Mohamed Dahleb who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chi Minh City's Trần Hong was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hamid Abrika charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hamid Abrika the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 90 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Taneytown AF! The goalkeeper, Tedj Saïfi, was totally fooled by Chi Minh City's Đặng Thuyet, who 92 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. There was no doubt that Taneytown AF were the better team. Taneytown AF's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
