An unexpectedly hard shot by Firdauz Ee in the 20th minute of play forced Bloomsbury's goalkeeper Steven Bailey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tan Chien-Kwan might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Steven Bailey. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tan Chien-Kwan ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Hillhead FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. In the 30th minute, Lloyd Ginn ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hamir Amin was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. 34 minutes into the game, one of Bloomsbury:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Firdauz Ee scored 2-3 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Steven Bailey, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Tommy Daly charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tommy Daly the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Hillhead FC's Ali Gopala Pillai quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Gwyn Rockett, made in the 44th minute of the game. The tension between the Hillhead FC and the Bloomsbury players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 78 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Hillhead FC! Firdauz Ee fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steven Bailey having to interfere. Tommy Daly was shown his second yellow card after 88 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 90th minute, Firdauz Ee got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Despite being the better team, Hillhead FC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
