The referee ignored Lindfield's protests and gave Benji Halliday a yellow card for diving instead. 3 minutes into the game, one of Lindfield:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Wolfsberg HC a penalty, 5 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jasper Rooy, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Lindfield's Pierre Dexter. 0-1. 7 minutes into the match, Wolfsberg HC's goalkeeper Roelof Palsma had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Niall Anson. Leon Steelman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Pierre Dexter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Job Hebels in the 13th minute of play forced Lindfield's goalkeeper Pierre Dexter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wolfsberg HC's Roelof Palsma played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jon Bilton in the 18th minute of play. Roelof Palsma was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jon Bilton showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 23 minute of play. Job Hebels sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Wolfsberg HC booed when Lindfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marek Lomas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jon Bilton to make the kick off. Roelof Palsma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niall Anson in the 54th minute of the match. Leon Steelman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Pierre Dexter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pierre Dexter stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Job Hebels's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Leon Steelman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wolfsberg HC's supporters rose to their feet, but Leon Steelman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pierre Dexter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Job Hebels came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Wolfsberg HC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Job Hebels couldn't finish the play. Pierre Dexter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gio Luirink in the 69th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leon Steelman got free with Pierre Dexter in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Roelof Palsma showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niall Anson, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Leon Steelman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
