Artur Timoshin hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Progresul Pitesti's Florin Logofătu shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 6th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Igor Akinfeev but with some difficulty. The audience cheered loudly when Florin Logofătu's long shot in the 6th minute became 1-0 when the ball went to the left of and passed Igor Akinfeev. If Karol Czempa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Artur Timoshin fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Voskresensk FC's protests and gave Artur Timoshin a yellow card for diving instead. In the 10th minute, Artur Timoshin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vasile Blănaru's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Igor Akinfeev firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 20th minute, Vasile Blănaru got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Voskresensk FC's Igor Akinfeev proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Voskresensk FC from getting a goal against them. 25 minutes into the match, Progresul Pitesti's goal looked a bit too open when Vadim Basmannikov came free, but Martin Tudor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 27 minutes Progresul Pitesti's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Roman Doronin who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Roman Doronin got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Martin Tudor quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 29 played minutes Voskresensk FC got a freekick which was hit by Roman Doronin. After a defensive mix-up in Voskresensk FC's zone, Florin Logofătu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Igor Akinfeev came out of the goal and Florin Logofătu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 31st minute Danila Kolobov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Tudor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Martin Tudor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vadim Basmannikov, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Voskresensk FC's Igor Akinfeev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karol Czempa in the 36th minute of play. In the 40th minute Evgeniy Fomichev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Tudor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vintilă Marinică hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. After 47 minutes Voskresensk FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Florin Logofătu who took care of the corner kick. Florin Logofătu made a great header on Progresul Pitesti's corner, it was just that Voskresensk FC's Igor Akinfeev managed to reach the ball for a save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vadim Basmannikov made a kick off. The audience was convinced that Karol Czempa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Igor Akinfeev was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. Danila Kolobov came free with the goalkeeper in the 58th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Martin Tudor could save by the left post. In the 61st minute of the match, Danila Kolobov got a very nice opportunity to score, but Martin Tudor was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Igor Akinfeev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vasile Blănaru in the 62nd minute of the match. A collision led to Voskresensk FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Danila Kolobov hit a great ball. Voskresensk FC's Konstantin Lakhov was substituted for Vadim Basmannikov. In the 64th minute, Danila Kolobov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Progresul Pitesti booed when Voskresensk FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yaroslav Evseev didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karol Czempa in the 71st minute of play forced Voskresensk FC's goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 72 minutes had been played when some careless play by Voskresensk FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Florin Logofătu was slow to take the kick. During this time Progresul Pitesti's players had a chance to rest. Progresul Pitesti's Florin Logofătu was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Igor Akinfeev in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Karol Czempa came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Progresul Pitesti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karol Czempa couldn't finish the play. In the 76thth minute of the game Karol Czempa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Voskresensk FC's Igor Akinfeev was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Voskresensk FC booed when Progresul Pitesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chorache Tofiño didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 80th minute, Chorache Tofiño hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Danila Kolobov got free with Martin Tudor in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Karol Czempa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Igor Akinfeev having to interfere. Dragoş Oloieru took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Igor Akinfeev. Igor Akinfeev dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. After a rather tough play, Voskresensk FC's Evgeniy Fomichev got a free kick in the 95th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Voskresensk FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Progresul Pitesti.
