After a rather tough play, Cobresal's Gregorio Quintero got a free kick in the 6th minute. Cöpacabana FC's Dobromir Brudnicki got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Horacio Jesus Urruticoechea made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Angelino Gentza sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gregorio Quintero in the 15th minute of play forced Cöpacabana FC's goalkeeper Dagoberto Loureiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Cobresal's goalkeeper Horacio Jesus Urruticoechea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Harald Boman. Horacio Jesus Urruticoechea didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vito Leite went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Angelino Gentza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dagoberto Loureiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dino Scapini in the 24th minute of play. In the 26th minute Cobresal were awarded a corner. José Ignacio Allard went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Gregorio Quintero almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Cöpacabana FC's Dagoberto Loureiro did a great save. Cöpacabana FC's Dagoberto Loureiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gregorio Quintero in the 29th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Gregorio Quintero's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dagoberto Loureiro was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Dagoberto Loureiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gregorio Quintero in the 46th minute of the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dobromir Brudnicki stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Chico Hermes hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Cobresal's Dino Scapini slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dagoberto Loureiro. That made the score 1-1 after 60 minutes of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Talha İstanbul managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cöpacabana FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Talha İstanbul was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Horacio Jesus Urruticoechea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 68 minutes, Dobromir Brudnicki managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cöpacabana FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dobromir Brudnicki was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 73 minutes into the match, Cobresal's goal looked a bit too open when Stig-Åke Benet came free, but Horacio Jesus Urruticoechea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cöpacabana FC's Talha İstanbul was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Horacio Jesus Urruticoechea in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Talha İstanbul came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Cöpacabana FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Talha İstanbul couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gregorio Quintero in the 85th minute of play forced Cöpacabana FC's goalkeeper Dagoberto Loureiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 87 played minutes Cöpacabana FC got a freekick which was hit by Harald Boman. Gregorio Quintero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 93 minutes, Chico Hermes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cöpacabana FC and the Cobresal players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 93 played minutes Cöpacabana FC got a freekick which was hit by Chico Hermes. It was beautiful to see Cobresal's José Ignacio Allard in action when he in the 95th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Cobresal's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
