Knut Söderström blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jiang Yu Lin having to make a save. 41 minutes into the match, Sport Clube Recife's goal looked a bit too open when Wiliam Ferraz came free, but Percy Fernandez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Sport Clube Recife booed when FALCÕES VERDES was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emre Çeliksu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Doctor Strange ran back to his position shaking his head. Sport Clube Recife's Percy Fernandez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emre Çeliksu in the 76th minute of play. With a little luck, FALCÕES VERDES's Jiang Yu Lin got control of the ball when Pablo Lampard tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sport Clube Recife's Doctor Strange was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 84th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After some careless play in the Sport Clube Recife defense, Emre Çeliksu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Percy Fernandez. The Sport Clube Recife fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Percy Fernandez should have stopped the shot. In the 96th minute, Emre Çeliksu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Percy Fernandez was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Sport Clube Recife's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
