After 27 played minutes Emerald got a freekick which was hit by Hurşit Cemşit. Emerald's Damian Furlit quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Grigore Dărăscu, made in the 29th minute of the game. After 30 minutes, Albert Mironov made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Emerald's 彭树邦 tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Emerald's 彭树邦 got control of the ball when Arthur Clarke tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Emerald getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Gabriel Vermeşan hit a great ball. Romania's Albert Mironov got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Emerald's Matei Félix Júnior got a free kick in the 45th minute. Romania's Grigore Dărăscu shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 47th minute of play. The shot was stopped by 彭树邦 but with some difficulty. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Victor Piţurcă was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Albert Mironov's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but 彭树邦 was relentless in the 50th minute of the game. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 96th minute of the game. One of Emerald:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Romania:s goal. 彭树邦 had in the 99thth minute some difficulties stopping Albert Mironov's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball.
