The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ivan Kurina showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Virgílio Pitta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Ivan Kurina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 15 minutes into the match, Correntezas EC's goalkeeper Gerson Bittencourt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Martin Šrobár. In the 17th minute Jozef Hauser shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerson Bittencourt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Virgílio Pitta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Correntezas EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Virgílio Pitta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ivan Kurina breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gerson Bittencourt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jozef Hauser, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 26thth minute of the game Virgílio Pitta who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kysučan FK's Ivan Kurina was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Virgílio Pitta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Kurina having to interfere. In the 31stth minute of the game Virgílio Pitta who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kysučan FK's Ivan Kurina was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jozef Hauser who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Gerson Bittencourt when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ivan Kurina made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgílio Pitta in the 37th minute of play. If Virgílio Pitta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Virgílio Pitta made a kick off. A collision led to Kysučan FK getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Tomáš Kundrát hit a great ball. Ivan Kurina made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dé Chaves in the 55th minute of play. In the 59th match minute, Correntezas EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Eduardo Massa to maneuver through the defense. In the 63rd minute, one of Correntezas EC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Correntezas EC. Ivan Kurina made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aloísio da Cunha in the 70th minute. Dé Chaves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Ivan Kurina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Kysučan FK defense, Aloísio da Cunha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ivan Kurina. The Kysučan FK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ivan Kurina should have stopped the shot. Aloísio da Cunha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Ivan Kurina made a huge save. Carlos Eduardo Massa charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carlos Eduardo Massa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ivan Kurina had in the 97thth minute some difficulties stopping Carlos Eduardo Massa's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his right side, but he still managed to hold the ball In the 97th minute, Carlos Eduardo Massa reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ivan Kurina. The goal made the score 1-2.
