Nicasio Abad made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gerardo Nesto in the 35th minute. 36 minutes into the match, Cougars FC's Steffen Gimlinge sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nicasio Abad narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Monterrey ante el Mundo⛥ supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Monterrey ante el Mundo⛥ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
