Emerson Recife stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Merlin Castro's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. Emerson Recife took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Merlin Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Merlin Castro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emerson Recife was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Heriberto Rudd in the 17th minute of play forced Khachatryan's goalkeeper Tigran Balayan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lincolnwood's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Khachatryan's Tigran Balayan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kenney Aasum in the 66th minute of play. 68 minutes had been played when some careless play by Khachatryan's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rayman Porras was slow to take the kick. During this time Lincolnwood's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Heriberto Rudd almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Khachatryan's Tigran Balayan did a great save. Merlin Castro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Emerson Recife made a huge save. In the 73rd minute of the match Khachatryan got a corner. Through an outstanding action, after 74 minutes, Emerson Recife successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Tigran Balayan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 王川洲, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Grigor Grigoryan struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Emerson Recife didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Khachatryan. In the 86th minute Heriberto Rudd shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tigran Balayan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Normando Carreira kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. The Khachatryan supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Khachatryan would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
