In the 12th minute, Braulio Hitz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tyrone Fowler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Don Malbec in the 14th minute of the match. 16 minutes into the match, Charlotte FC's goal looked a bit too open when João Dante came free, but Bryant Miles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Charles Town's Igor Czciborek got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 26th minute, Braulio Hitz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Don Malbec blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tyrone Fowler having to make a save. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nicky Stapleton made a kick off. Tyrone Fowler stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Don Malbec's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. The Charlotte FC fans' excitement grew in the 53rd match minute when Charlotte FC's Don Malbec looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal.
