Charlotte FC's Mitchell Curry quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Jarrett Rosenberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Don Malbec, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Jarrett Rosenberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Don Malbec in the 7th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Don Malbec in the 12th minute of play forced Cosmos Soccer Club's goalkeeper Jarrett Rosenberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jarrett Rosenberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Don Malbec in the 17th minute of the match. In the 18th minute, Robustiano Amor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Don Malbec blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jarrett Rosenberg having to make a save. In the 21st minute Don Malbec shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jarrett Rosenberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 26th minute, Don Malbec left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Charlotte FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Jarrett Rosenberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Don Malbec in the 33rd minute of play. The supporters of Charlotte FC booed when Cosmos Soccer Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcus Rush didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Don Malbec's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jarrett Rosenberg was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. When Bogdan Matela came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Charlotte FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bogdan Matela couldn't finish the play. 43 minutes into the match, Don Malbec had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jarrett Rosenberg. Cosmos Soccer Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Don Malbec was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. The audience was convinced that Don Malbec's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jarrett Rosenberg was relentless in the 49th minute of the game. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

If Jaques Van Mellaert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jarrett Rosenberg was out of position in the 55 minute of play, and Don Malbec capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Don Malbec really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. Don Malbec could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Jarrett Rosenberg made a huge save. Cosmos Soccer Club's Jarrett Rosenberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Don Malbec in the 69th minute of play. Jarrett Rosenberg was out of position in the 70 minute of play, and Don Malbec capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Don Malbec really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. Ivelin Kúchev kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Patrick Fontenot struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Bryant Miles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cosmos Soccer Club. 90 minutes into the match, Cosmos Soccer Club's goal looked a bit too open when Vicente Rafferty came free, but Jarrett Rosenberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Charlotte FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Kaja Jamak in the 91st minute. After taking down the ball on Charlotte FC's corner Kaja Jamak fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jarrett Rosenberg quite easily take care of the ball. Felix Dias took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jarrett Rosenberg. Jarrett Rosenberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. Marcus Rush hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The Cosmos Soccer Club fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Charlotte FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
