Black Knights FC's attentive Olivier De Paepe managed to snatch the ball when Mitchell Curry made a throw-in in the 9th minute of the game. Arturo Di Rado scored 0-1 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bryant Miles, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Don Malbec fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stacy Daniel having to interfere. In the 22nd minute Arturo Di Rado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bryant Miles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stacy Daniel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Don Malbec in the 25th minute of play. Don Malbec scored 1-1 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Stacy Daniel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 36th minute Arturo Di Rado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bryant Miles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stacy Daniel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Don Malbec in the 45th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Don Malbec was the one to do the kick off. Black Knights FC's Arturo Di Rado got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Charlotte FC's Bryant Miles proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Charlotte FC from getting a goal against them. Arturo Di Rado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Bryant Miles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 67thth minute of the game Don Malbec who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Black Knights FC's Stacy Daniel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Arturo Di Rado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bryant Miles having to make a save. Elliot Mercado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Bryant Miles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Charlotte FC's Bryant Miles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elliot Mercado in the 91st minute of play. Arturo Di Rado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bryant Miles read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. If Elliot Mercado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Charlotte FC's Vicente Rafferty got a free kick in the 96th minute. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
