In the 29thth minute of the game Emmanuel Corley who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Charlotte FC's Bryant Miles was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Charlotte FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kerry McDonald was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-3. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Kaja Jamak put it in 5-3 from a short distance just to the right of Hal Mackey. Don Malbec fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hal Mackey having to interfere. Charlotte FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Western Springs FC for a fine match.
