El Canalla de Chicago's Wilbur Hyde played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernie Dixon in the 7th minute of play. Ernie Dixon scored 1-0 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wilbur Hyde, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Wilbur Hyde made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when J.C. Ogden sent off a good shot on target. Wilbur Hyde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from J.C. Ogden in the 15th minute of play. A collision led to El Canalla de Chicago getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Emmanuel Lockhart hit a great ball. Wilbur Hyde showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from J.C. Ogden, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Roman Rollins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquim Vilar in the 21st minute of the match. Wilbur Hyde was out of position in the 22 minute of play, and J.C. Ogden capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. J.C. Ogden really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. After a rather tough play, El Canalla de Chicago's Hugo Hubbard got a free kick in the 24th minute. Domingo Lopez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Roman Rollins read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Roman Rollins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquim Vilar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Joaquim Vilar, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 32 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Roman Rollins was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After 33 played minutes Boca Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Brian Herget. Rich Jean made in the 36th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by El Canalla de Chicago's Emmanuel Lockhart. Wilbur Hyde took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernie Dixon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Boca Juniors booed when El Canalla de Chicago was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nathan Shannon didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when J.C. Ogden made the kick off in the second half. Vitinho Diniz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilbur Hyde having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joaquim Vilar got free with Roman Rollins in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cyryl Karpinski's late challenge caught a El Canalla de Chicago's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cyryl Karpinski helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Boca Juniors getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Cyryl Karpinski hit a great ball. Boca Juniors's Shelby Cruz was substituted for Jason Stuart. In the 79th match minute, Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cyryl Karpinski to maneuver through the defense. Wilbur Hyde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cyryl Karpinski in the 85th minute of play. After 87 minutes of play, El Canalla de Chicago's Justin Raines made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Roman Rollins was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 96 played minutes El Canalla de Chicago got a freekick which was hit by Justin Raines. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched El Canalla de Chicago eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
