Independiente's Kerry Sellers got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kerry Sellerss short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got Randall Stevens to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 29thth minute of the game Virgilio Kennedy who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Kerry Sellers might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Randall Stevens. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kerry Sellers ran back to his position shaking his head. 33 minutes into the match, Chard United's goalkeeper Randall Stevens had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kerry Sellers. 35 minutes into the match, C. A. Independiente's Xu Yun Quan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Randall Stevens narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, Chard United's Randall Stevens got control of the ball when Xu Yun Quan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Norbert Swift made in the 41st minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by 孙骋磊. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Randall Stevens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sid Chadwick in the 53rd minute of the match. Melvin Ruffin charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Randall Stevens was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. 74 minutes into the match, Chard United's goal looked a bit too open when Sid Chadwick came free, but Randall Stevens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 76th minute, Kerry Sellers got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Virgilio Kennedy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Norbert Swift made in the 82nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and 孙骋磊 immediately put the ball in play. Randall Stevens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kerry Sellers in the 84th minute of play. Kerry Sellers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
