ACC Mavericks's Bob Hyatt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save ACC Mavericks from getting a goal against them. 6 minutes into the game, Matt Santos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ACC Mavericks's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave New Iberia AFC the free kick. In the 6th match minute, ACC Mavericks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matt Santos to maneuver through the defense. In the 7th minute, Jess Rainey sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and ACC Mavericks's Bob Hyatt didn't even have to move. Bob Hyatt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felipe Coulter in the 11th minute. Bob Hyatt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruno Oskitz in the 12th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the match, ACC Mavericks's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Oskitz came free, but Bob Hyatt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Glen Lefler in the 18th minute of play forced ACC Mavericks's goalkeeper Bob Hyatt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bob Hyatt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Glen Lefler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Steve Van Clynenbreugel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kurtis Shea having to interfere. ACC Mavericks's Bob Hyatt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Glen Lefler in the 21st minute of play. When Matt Santos was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 21 minutes had been played. Steve Van Clynenbreugel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 30 minutes into the match, New Iberia AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Nerio Lopez de Toro came free, but Kurtis Shea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlo Salazar's late challenge caught a ACC Mavericks's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlo Salazar helped the player get up and apologised. In the 31st minute, Carlo Salazar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Glen Lefler in the 34th minute of play forced ACC Mavericks's goalkeeper Bob Hyatt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Glen Lefler in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bob Hyatt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Steve Van Clynenbreugel during the 50th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to ACC Mavericks getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Steve Van Clynenbreugel hit a great ball. Genaro Procopio came free with the goalkeeper in the 55th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Kurtis Shea could save by the left post. In the 56th minute, Felipe Coulter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bob Hyatt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santiago Kendrick, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 61st minute Bruno Oskitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bob Hyatt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patrick Kazimierz hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. In the 63rd minute Tuan Eubanks shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kurtis Shea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 72 minutes had been played when some careless play by New Iberia AFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Nerio Lopez de Toro was slow to take the kick. During this time ACC Mavericks's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on ACC Mavericks's corner Nerio Lopez de Toro fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Kurtis Shea quite easily take care of the ball. After some careless play in the New Iberia AFC defense, Nerio Lopez de Toro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kurtis Shea. The New Iberia AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kurtis Shea should have stopped the shot. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Steve Van Clynenbreugel took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Kurtis Shea to make any attempt to save it. ACC Mavericks's Bob Hyatt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Coulter in the 89th minute of play. After 93 played minutes ACC Mavericks got a freekick which was hit by Genaro Procopio. 94 minutes into the match, New Iberia AFC's Jess Rainey broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When the match was over ACC Mavericks could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than New Iberia AFC throughout the match.
