Randall Stevens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kerry Sellers, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. 46 minutes into the game, Virgilio Kennedy cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Farid Mondragón was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

The wind increased when Virgilio Kennedy made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Kerry Sellers reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Randall Stevens. The goal made the score 1-1. C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Craven in the 55th minute of play.
