Spectators: 189 (Terracing: 143, Seating: 43, VIP seats: 3) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Xu Yun Quan kicked off to start the match. 5 minutes into the game, C. A. Independiente's Sidney Forbes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hilario Carro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 7th minute, Kerry Sellers reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Hilario Carro. The goal made the score 2-0. C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Pollard in the 11th minute of play. In the 13th minute Sidney Forbes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hilario Carro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hilario Carro made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Xu Yun Quan sent off a good shot on target. In the 17th minute, Xu Yun Quan reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Hilario Carro. The goal made the score 3-0. Kerry Sellers's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Hilario Carro firmly grabbed it by the left post. Sidney Forbes took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hilario Carro. Hilario Carro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Hilario Carro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xu Yun Quan, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. A collision led to Lake Junaluska FC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Dennis Miranda hit a great ball. When Xu Yun Quan came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the C. A. Independiente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xu Yun Quan couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Lake Junaluska FC's Hilario Carro got control of the ball when Sidney Forbes tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 38 minutes, Sidney Forbes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C. A. Independiente's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sidney Forbes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Lake Junaluska FC's Trevor Hamlin got a free kick in the 40th minute. 42 minutes into the match, C. A. Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Darron Messer came free, but Farid Mondragón reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. C. A. Independiente were awarded a corner in the 45th minute after Lake Junaluska FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Kerry Sellers took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Xu Yun Quan managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The supporters of Lake Junaluska FC booed when C. A. Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xu Yun Quan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hilario Carro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xu Yun Quan in the 53rd minute of play. 55 minutes into the match, C. A. Independiente's goalkeeper Farid Mondragón had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Keenan Blake. Sidney Forbes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hilario Carro having to make a save. 66 minutes into the game, Trevor Hamlin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lake Junaluska FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C. A. Independiente the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Lake Junaluska FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 65th minute. Penalty! Hilario Carro had in the 66thth minute some difficulties stopping Kerry Sellers's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 70th minute, Kerry Sellers left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The C. A. Independiente fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. A collision led to Lake Junaluska FC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Trevor Hamlin hit a great ball. Hilario Carro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sidney Forbes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Independiente's Xu Yun Quan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hilario Carro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, C. A. Independiente's Kerry Sellers got a free kick in the 82nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sidney Forbes in the 93rd minute of play forced Lake Junaluska FC's goalkeeper Hilario Carro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hilario Carro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kerry Sellers in the 94th minute of the match. In the 95th minute Kerry Sellers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hilario Carro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sidney Forbes in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hilario Carro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The C. A. Independiente fans cheered their team off the field, for while Lake Junaluska FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
