Lamar Arthur fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bob Hyatt having to interfere. Bob Hyatt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lamar Arthur's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Lamar Arthur who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 23rdth minute tested the skills of Bob Hyatt when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Chard United booed when ACC Mavericks was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Genaro Procopio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute of the match, Virgilio Kennedy tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Bob Hyatt saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Lukasz Jazwiec received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. The ACC Mavericks fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bob Hyatt should have stopped the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

ACC Mavericks's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
