With a little luck, Winners 1988 FC's Hector Noel got control of the ball when Gordon Haas tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 26th match minute, Winners 1988 FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Narciso Jacindo to maneuver through the defense. São Paulo Futebol Clube's Drew Shultz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rosario Polk in the 31st minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, São Paulo Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Allan Wolf came free, but Drew Shultz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 46 played minutes São Paulo Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Alan Santana. Allan Wolf took the ball and in the 48 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Drew Shultz. Drew Shultz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3.

The wind increased when Gordon Haas made the kick off in the second half. Drew Shultz came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Winners 1988 FC's Rosario Polk. But to his dismay, Rosario Polk quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Gordon Haas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Hector Noel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Drew Shultz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rosario Polk in the 66th minute. São Paulo Futebol Clube made a substitution. Nick Vazquez replaced Gordon Haas. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Allan Wolf during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Winners 1988 FC getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Allan Wolf hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, Winners 1988 FC's Drew Shultz threw himself towards the right post 97 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Allan Wolf, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When the match was over Winners 1988 FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than São Paulo Futebol Clube throughout the match.
