An unexpectedly hard shot by Terrence McAllister in the 3rd minute of play forced FC Schalke 04's goalkeeper Gilles Eichenberger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilles Eichenberger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Terrence McAllister, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 7th minute, Terrence McAllister ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gilles Eichenberger was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. A hard shot 10 in the game by Terrence McAllister from a close distance when the talented Gilles Eichenberger managed to make a qualified save. FC Schalke 04's players were relieved. František Spousta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kasey Countess having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, FC Schalke 04's goal looked a bit too open when Terrence McAllister came free, but Gilles Eichenberger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. František Spousta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Kasey Countess tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Riho Hindpere fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kasey Countess having to interfere. 28 minutes into the match, FC Schalke 04's goal looked a bit too open when Terrence McAllister came free, but Gilles Eichenberger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gilles Eichenberger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Terrence McAllister, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling František Spousta in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kasey Countess prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 36th minute of the match FC Schalke 04 got a corner. New England Minas's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. František Spousta ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led FC Schalke 04's František Spousta to fire away a dangerous shot which Kasey Countess despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The attack was good, but when Benedykt Cwenar in the 36th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. 38 minutes into the match, František Spousta had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kasey Countess. New England Minas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that František Spousta was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Nikitas Papaiakovou received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Gilles Eichenberger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 43rd play minutes František Spousta shot 2-3, a short shot which went by Kasey Countess and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind New England Minas's goalkeeper Kasey Countess, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kasey Countess showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from František Spousta in the 48th minute of the match.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Terrence McAllister in the 52nd minute of play forced FC Schalke 04's goalkeeper Gilles Eichenberger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. František Spoustas short, quick shot in the 53rdth minute got Kasey Countess to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, FC Schalke 04's Tuan Seay got a free kick in the 54th minute. After a defensive mix-up in New England Minas's zone, Benedykt Cwenar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kasey Countess came out of the goal and Benedykt Cwenar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 58 minutes into the match, New England Minas's goal looked a bit too open when František Spousta came free, but Kasey Countess reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of FC Schalke 04 booed when New England Minas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Monroe Colvin didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to New England Minas getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Rex Watts hit a great ball. František Spousta struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Kasey Countess didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Schalke 04. After a rather tough play, New England Minas's Terrence McAllister got a free kick in the 65th minute. New England Minas's Kasey Countess played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by František Spousta in the 68th minute of play. František Spousta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kasey Countess read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, New England Minas's goalkeeper Kasey Countess had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Riho Hindpere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jaime Post during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Son Santiago took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 79th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gilles Eichenberger. FC Schalke 04's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When New England Minas's Terrence McAllister in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Schalke 04's goalie prevented a goal. New England Minas's Monroe Colvin suffered a sore foot after 87 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Mel Hewitt kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. František Spousta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The New England Minas fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FC Schalke 04 were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
