Tad Cordero hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in United States's zone, Ward Doran stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roman Farris charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roman Farris the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Peter Parker struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Egil Östlund didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for United States. Egil Östlund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerardo Pearson in the 32nd minute of play. Golden Hills's Egil Östlund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peter Parker in the 37th minute of play. Egil Östlund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerardo Pearson in the 43rd minute of the match. Peter Parker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egil Östlund having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ward Doran made a kick off. A collision led to United States getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Renaldo David hit a great ball. Peter Parker in the 54thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Egil Östlund, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save.
