New England Minas were awarded a corner in the 10th minute after United States's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Son Santiago took the corner. Pablo Opilano who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 12thth minute tested the skills of Kasey Countess when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 12 minutes, Monroe Colvin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the New England Minas and the United States players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, New England Minas's Monroe Colvin got a free kick in the 13th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Peter Parker got free with Kasey Countess in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 13th minute, United States's Peter Parker dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. New England Minas's Nikitas Papaiakovou got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Terrence McAllister's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but José Maria Branco was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Terrence McAllister in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg José Maria Branco saved United States from getting behind. After 24 minutes, Terrence McAllister made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. United States's José Maria Branco tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Terrence McAllister fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Maria Branco having to interfere. A collision led to New England Minas getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Nikitas Papaiakovou hit a great ball. Wes Rainey kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nikitas Papaiakovou in the 35th minute of play forced United States's goalkeeper José Maria Branco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Pablo Opilano put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Kasey Countess. Kasey Countess made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 史岚庭 in the 57th minute of play. 58 minutes into the match, Pablo Opilano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kasey Countess. New England Minas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pablo Opilano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. Kasey Countess took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peter Parker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 68 minutes, Pablo Opilano made it 6-2 with a short kick to the right side. New England Minas's Kasey Countess tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 70 minutes into the match, New England Minas's goal looked a bit too open when Pablo Opilano came free, but Kasey Countess reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. New England Minas's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
