With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kazimierz Traczewski in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilles Eichenberger saved FC Schalke 04 from getting behind. 25 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Schalke 04's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Erik Huang was slow to take the kick. During this time DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO's players had a chance to rest. FC Schalke 04's Gilles Eichenberger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save FC Schalke 04 from getting a goal against them.
