After 12 played minutes Agua Santa got a freekick which was hit by Danilo Palmeira. 13 minutes into the match, Várzea F.C.'s Ramiro Rosado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tomé Mota narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Várzea F.C.'s Jano Paiva got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Danilo Palmeira got his second yellow card in the match during the 16th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 17 played minutes Agua Santa got a freekick which was hit by Danilo Palmeira. Bruninho Arósio kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Dinei Cearense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Agua Santa's Tomé Mota got control of the ball when Ramiro Rosado tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ramiro Rosado's late challenge caught a Agua Santa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ramiro Rosado helped the player get up and apologised. In the 26th match minute, Várzea F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ramiro Rosado to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Agua Santa's Tomé Mota got control of the ball when Jano Paiva tried to sneak it across the goal line. Várzea F.C.'s Serafim Mesquita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dinei Cearense in the 39th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Lúcio Viana made the kick off in the second half. Agua Santa's Olavo Vianna was substituted for Emanuel Vianna. Tomé Mota took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jano Paiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th minute, Jano Paiva made a precise shot to the right of Tomé Mota. Agua Santa's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0.
