After a rather tough play, Red John S.K's Dalmo Passos got a free kick in the 5th minute. After 7 minutes of play, 27 de Mayo's Dedê de Senna made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Severino Aguiar was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 13th minute Christian Monteiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juarês Corrêa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, 27 de Mayo's goalkeeper Juarês Corrêa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Reginaldo Donatello. Reginaldo Donatello's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Juarês Corrêa firmly grabbed it by the left post. 27 de Mayo's Juarês Corrêa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christian Monteiro in the 15th minute of play. Hílton Cardoso's late challenge caught a Red John S.K's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hílton Cardoso helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Red John S.K booed when 27 de Mayo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hílton Cardoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nilmar Berger kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Juarês Corrêa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christian Monteiro in the 40th minute of play. Severino Aguiar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dedê de Senna in the 44th minute of play. After 47 minutes, Clemente Castro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the 27 de Mayo and the Red John S.K players grew even worse after the yellow card. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Christian Monteiro was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th match minute, Red John S.K was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Paulo Zonta to maneuver through the defense. The excitement rose when 27 de Mayo's Carlos Eduardo Rossi after 67 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Red John S.K's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 4-2. Severino Aguiar made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Dedê de Senna sent off a good shot on target. Sílvio Veiga ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 86th match minute, Red John S.K was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sanderson Costa to maneuver through the defense. Luís Paulo Zonta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Juarês Corrêa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Júnior Cosme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juarês Corrêa having to interfere. 96 minutes into the match, Red John S.K's goal looked a bit too open when Hílton Cardoso came free, but Severino Aguiar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
