Nilmar Berger took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 16th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gláuber Rosa. Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 18 minutes, Reginaldo Donatello managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nilmar Berger charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After 41 minutes of play, Red John S.K's Sílvio Veiga made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. After the first half Red John S.K were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Christian Monteiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Reginaldo Donatello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Christian Monteiro in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gláuber Rosa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Christian Monteiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Duda Abraão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Paulo Zonta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gláuber Rosa having to interfere. Gláuber Rosa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luís Paulo Zonta in the 82nd minute.
