The supporters of Várzea F.C. booed when S.E.R. Caxias do Sul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonas Veloso didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute Ramiro Rosado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vitor José saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Juan Sorin to make the kick off. Vitor José showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramiro Rosado in the 54th minute of the match. Serafim Mesquita didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from João Carlos Gaspar went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. When Jailson Koehler came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Várzea F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jailson Koehler couldn't finish the play. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Juan Sorin in the 74th minute. After taking down the ball on S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's corner Juan Sorin fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Serafim Mesquita quite easily take care of the ball. 76 minutes into the match, S.E.R.
