Luiz Fernando Silva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laércio Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Jânio Arantes's late challenge caught a Jovens Democratas MZC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Agua Santa's Tomé Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aílton Sousa in the 51st minute of play. Jânio Arantes was shown his second yellow card after 51 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. But to his dismay, Valdemar Guerra quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. After a rather tough play, Agua Santa's Emanuel Vianna got a free kick in the 75th minute. In the 76th match minute, Jovens Democratas MZC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredo de Moraes to maneuver through the defense. In the 81st minute, Valdemar Guerra ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tomé Mota was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0.
