Mamutes EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dave Panno was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dave Panno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jesús Incendio having to interfere. Magno Correia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Efren Reina in the 40th minute of the match. In the 41st match minute, Mamutes EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aírton Freire to maneuver through the defense. Mamutes EC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Valério Meireles in the 47th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rubens da Silveira made a kick off. In the 51st minute Efren Reina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Magno Correia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
