Sporting Club Sicilia's Alvaro Sanna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 吴鸿益 in the 19th minute of play. Alvaro Sanna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dan Alb in the 24th minute of play. Menzel SV's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Niyazi Koçarslan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Adalberto Figueiredo to strike the kick off in the second half. After 80 played minutes, Sporting Club Sicilia's Alberto Nazzaro shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Niyazi Koçarslan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sporting Club Sicilia reached it. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Sporting Club Sicilia players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
