Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Florencio Herbella started the match with the kick off. In the 7th minute of the match Geležinis Vilkas got a corner. Atletico Maturrango's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eitautas Ivoška ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arévalo Miñaca in the 9th minute of play forced Atletico Maturrango's goalkeeper Weather Piedrahita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arne Rusterholz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Florencio Herbella, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Atletico Maturrango's Weather Piedrahita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arévalo Miñaca in the 15th minute of play. 15 minutes into the game, Arévalo Miñaca cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Weather Piedrahita was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Léo de Azevedo fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Geležinis Vilkas's protests and gave Léo de Azevedo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 21st minute of the match, Zenonas Lopeta tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Weather Piedrahita saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 22nd minute, Toto Malaiholo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arne Rusterholz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florencio Herbella, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, Geležinis Vilkas's Weather Piedrahita threw himself towards the right post 35 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Arévalo Miñaca, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Zenonas Lopeta kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After 45 minutes of play, Atletico Maturrango's Florencio Herbella made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arne Rusterholz was left in no man's land by his defense there! After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arévalo Miñaca to make the kick off. Weather Piedrahita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arévalo Miñaca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 54th minute, Florencio Herbella hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 56 minutes into the match, Atletico Maturrango's goal looked a bit too open when Arévalo Miñaca came free, but Weather Piedrahita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Geležinis Vilkas defense, Florencio Herbella kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arne Rusterholz. The Geležinis Vilkas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arne Rusterholz should have stopped the shot. Atletico Maturrango's Ederono Ojero was substituted for Florencio Herbella. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Arévalo Miñaca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Geležinis Vilkas's supporters rose to their feet, but Arévalo Miñaca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Weather Piedrahita breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 74th match minute, Atletico Maturrango was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ederono Ojero to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Geležinis Vilkas's zone, Ederono Ojero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arne Rusterholz came out of the goal and Ederono Ojero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Atletico Maturrango getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Marcial Zuazna hit a great ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Atletico Maturrango walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
