The audience was convinced that Modesto Atarratze's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tiaguinho Correia was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. A well-hit corner resulted in Dragoş Vâtcu heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolas Espiridion in the 17th minute of play forced Trindade Atlético Club's goalkeeper Tiaguinho Correia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dagoberto Dracena received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Valdomiro Ferraz came out and tried to block the shot, but Dagoberto Dracena slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 18th minute. Tiaguinho Correia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Modesto Atarratze, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 22 played minutes Trindade Atlético Club got a freekick which was hit by Falcão de Barros. 25 minutes into the game, Dagoberto Dracena recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Valdomiro Ferraz. Dagoberto Dracena showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Dagoberto Dracena could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Valdomiro Ferraz made a huge save. Nicolas Espiridion's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tiaguinho Correia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. If Fulgencio Rius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Modesto Atarratze in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tiaguinho Correia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dagoberto Dracena might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Valdomiro Ferraz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dagoberto Dracena ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 41st minute Modesto Atarratze shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiaguinho Correia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Montalcino SE's Perivaldo Paiva was substituted for Modesto Atarratze. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nicolas Espiridion to make the kick off. Nicolas Espiridion received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Tiaguinho Correia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Trindade Atlético Club's Fulgencio Rius quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Sandro Jacinto, made in the 56th minute of the game. Dragoş Vâtcu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Valdomiro Ferraz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dagoberto Dracena in the 59th minute of play forced Montalcino SE's goalkeeper Valdomiro Ferraz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, Perivaldo Paiva took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Tiaguinho Correia to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Trindade Atlético Club booed when Montalcino SE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Menios Kefalos didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 65 played minutes, Trindade Atlético Club's Falcão de Barros shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Valdomiro Ferraz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Trindade Atlético Club reached it. Dagoberto Dracena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Valdomiro Ferraz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dagoberto Dracena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 75th minute, Rogério Aguiar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Trindade Atlético Club's Ruperto Emenon was substituted for Dragoş Vâtcu. The supporters of Trindade Atlético Club booed when Montalcino SE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rogério Aguiar didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match clock showed 78 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Róbson Couto sped through Montalcino SE's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Valdomiro Ferraz. Róbson Couto kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. 84 minutes into the match, Ruperto Emenon notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Montalcino SE's Valdomiro Ferraz. Valdomiro Ferraz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Trindade Atlético Club's Tiaguinho Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas Espiridion in the 87th minute of play. In the 95th minute, Róbson Couto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Trindade Atlético Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1.

Trindade Atlético Club's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
