But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alex de Medeiros couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ's Alex de Medeiros got a free kick in the 29th minute. Remo Fontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edson Ribeiro in the 30th minute of play. Geovanildo Silva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osvaldinho Hoffmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 38 minutes into the match, Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Lucrețiu Grigore came free, but Remo Fontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 41st minute Lucrețiu Grigore shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remo Fontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 42 minutes into the match, Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Gomesano Gatica came free, but Remo Fontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 43rd minute, Eleuterio Gaztea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alex de Medeiros to make the kick off. Geovanildo Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiago Vidal in the 53rd minute of play. Remo Fontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucrețiu Grigore in the 58th minute of play. Geovanildo Silva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex de Medeiros in the 63rd minute of the match. Edson Ribeiro had several of the Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 65 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-1 score and a disappointed Remo Fontes as he didn't even see the shot coming. Gomesano Gatica received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Remo Fontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ made a substitution. Diego Souza replaced Alex de Medeiros. Lucrețiu Grigore struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Remo Fontes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grêmio Prudente.
