In the 39th minute of the match, Adam Walkowski tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Danny Pasquier saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Jean-Cyrille Beurier fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 France's protests and gave Jean-Cyrille Beurier a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to U21 France getting a freekick after 44 minutes play.
