After a long run with the ball, Guilherme Souza did a trick in the 18th minute in front of Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's goalkeeper, who threw himself to the side. After that it was simple to shoot 1-2. An impressive performance by U21 Brazil's Guilherme Souza! Amadeo Rufo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Duarte de Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amadeo Rufo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guilherme Souza in the 28th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's Geovânio Vidal got a free kick in the 29th minute. But to his dismay, Duarte de Castro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. 38 minutes into the match, Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's Edin Džeko sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gigio Buffon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Amadeo Rufo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guilherme Souza in the 40th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duarte de Castro in the 44th minute of play forced Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Amadeo Rufo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amadeo Rufo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guilherme Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Duarte de Castro made the kick off in the second half. After 80th play minutes Edin Džeko shot 2-4, a short shot which went by Gigio Buffon and just under the crossbar into goal. 83 minutes into the match, Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Elói Alcântara came free, but Amadeo Rufo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Elói Alcântara came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the U21 Brazil fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elói Alcântara couldn't finish the play. Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's Amadeo Rufo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elói Alcântara in the 92nd minute of play. 94 minutes into the game, Kléberson Mazza cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-5. Amadeo Rufo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. U21 Brazil's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
