Nantwich's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Golden Boys the free kick. The supporters of Golden Boys booed when Nantwich was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilbert Nnaemeka didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Nantwich's Chinua Onianwa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Taka Londaridze. That made the score 3-1 after 44 minutes of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After some fancy dribbling in the 98th minute, Bebur Bitsadze managed to get in a good position for a shot. Golden Boys's supporters rose to their feet, but Bebur Bitsadze was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wasiu Olaoye breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 99th minute Gocha Kobiashvili shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wasiu Olaoye saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. During the 99th minute of the match Merab Magalov completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Merab Magalov a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Merab Magalov hit a great freekick 100 minutes into the match. Nantwich's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
